Have any of you ever seen the television show on NBC called Outsourced?  It is a comedy about an outsourcing team in India that handles the phone calls for American companies.

I’ve got to be honest, I’m not a fan of the show.  I tried watching it several times and it’s not my style.

I do think it’s great, though, because it’s brought to the forefront and industry that most Americans don’t know about.

I’ve been outsourcing for years.  I’ve outsourced design of my products, websites, and logos.  I’ve outsourced audio and video editing and production.  I’ve outsourced virtual assistants in other countries.  I’ve had people in other countries writing articles for my websites, designing software, and so much more.

We live in a global age where this is possible.  I think it’s amazing.

Now, some people will give me flack.  They’ll get after me for not using Americans for everything I do.  If that is your take then I have no problem with that.  I’m of the opinion, though, that I’m going to find the best value wherever I can.  That doesn’t mean the cheapest price, mind you.  Rather, I’m going to find the services  that benefit me the most, the quickest, and with competitive pricing.

That often means local service providers, but it also means foreign service providers as well and I won’t apologize for that.
